Okay todays blog with be very short, promise! I wasn't able to see my Dad today because I had some yard work that had to be done before it snowed tomorrow. I've been putting off raking leaves ever since Dad got sick. So I wasn't able to talk to Dad or see how he was.
Mom was there today and said that the physical therapists got Dad to walk to the bathroom and also down the hall with only one and a half people assisting him. Then they moved Dad today to a Care Facility in Salt Lake. I can't remember the name but will update you tomorrow on where he is at. We would like to see Dad have lots o visitors so that he doesn't get bored and lonely.
More tomorrow.

This is jeri Rosenthal, Shelley R.'s sister who has been living in Alaska many years after leaving Utah.
ReplyDeleteI just heard what had happened to Jim, from Shelley tonight. I have read your blog Jamierae and thank you for that, so we could all follow what has been happening. Computers can be a great tool.
I know your father from way back in Ogden teen years. The years of skiing at snow basin and hanging out. Your father has always been a nice human being.
This has been an awful experience for you all to go through. I have been in nursing for 30 yrs Intensive care, and now the Emergency department. From what I have seen over the years is that, the progress that Jim has made so far is very encouraging, in this short period of time since the accident. The brain and body, let us not leave out the mind, and spirit has amazing abilities to heal. Even when damaged the body, with the mind finds ways to circumnavigate injuries and compensate for disabilities.
I am amazed and not surprized at Jim's determination to make it back.
I would like to send some photos. The devotion and care you and your family are giving to Jim is a huge part of Jim making the mend. There are many out there that do not have that love and support.....my very best..I will keep following the progress.
Jamie, I am Jill Allsop and I work with your mom and day at Coldwell Banker. My mobile number is 801-573-1937. I would like to visit your dad. Like I said in one of my comments, my years as a nurse I learned a great deal. One was giving a nice foot rub or back rub. If there is a time on Sunday afternoon, evening or Monday sometime before 4:00 I would like to visit. Thanks for keeping things updated so that we might hear of Jim's progress. These blogs will forever be a blessing to you. Your love for your father and mother, and closeness to your whole family is inspiring and very special to me.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad he is still progressing... just a quick question... which half of the "half person" showed up to help him down the hall??? **snickers** hope that made you laugh! thanks again for keeping us all informed!!! this *is* a blessing.
ReplyDeleteemma, I thought about putting in something funny about the half person too! I'm glad someone got my joke without me having to be blatant!! You did make me laugh. Thanks.
